About Grace Church Preaching Conferences
We
have a strong conviction at Grace Church that preaching is central to
Pastoral Ministry. Our Church motto is this: "When the Bible is taught,
God's voice is heard."
However, opportunities to receive
encouragement and ongoing training in Biblical preaching can be scarce.
There is plenty of material to read and numerous conferences to attend
on Church planting, Church growth, etc., but very little on this 'bread
and butter' aspect of ministry. And so, our pulpits often end up filled
with disheartened, discouraged and, dare we say it, even boring
preachers, rather than passionate and relevant expositors of God's
living Word.
Therefore since 2003 we have hosted a number
of conferences to enthuse and strengthen preachers. These have often
focused on the basics of preaching and on doing these basics
excellently and faithfully.
Our speakers have included
world renowned Bible Expositors including Dick Lucas, David Jackman
amongst others. This year we are thrilled to welcome Peter Dickson -
who has been the pastor of High Church, Hilton in Aberdeen, Scotland
for the past 14 years and is a trustee of Cornhill Training Institute,
a course for equipping Bible teachers.
